1) Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: Name, email address, mobile number, profile photo, and password.
- Verification Data: Government-issued ID details used for identity verification (e.g., State ID or Aadhaar). We do not store ID numbers. We may retain limited details:
- Name → visible to all users on your profile and listings (authenticity).
- Gender → visible to all users at all times (safety & transparency for gender-specific services).
- Date of Birth (DOB) → never shown publicly.
- Age (derived from DOB) → shown on profile/listings.
- Service Details: Descriptions, schedules, pricing, photos, videos, certificates, and location preferences.
- Communication Data: Messages, reviews, ratings, and feedback between users.
- Payment Information: UPI ID, bank details, card or wallet credentials (processed via trusted providers such as Razorpay, PhonePe, Stripe).
b) Information We Collect Automatically
- Device Data: Device ID, OS, model, app version; browser type on web.
- Usage Data: Pages viewed, search terms, time spent, interaction patterns.
- Location Data: GPS for service discovery (with your consent).
c) Information from Third Parties
Data from Google Sign-In, social logins, or SDKs (analytics, crash reporting, ads).
2) How We Use Your Information
- Enable account creation, profile management, and authentication.
- Connect you with relevant service providers or consumers.
- Process bookings, payments, and service contracts.
- Personalize your experience based on preferences and past activity.
- Send updates, confirmations, security alerts, and support messages.
- Improve performance, detect and prevent fraud, and analyze usage.
4) Data Storage & Retention
- Local Data Storage: Country-specific servers to comply with local data protection and residency laws.
- Data Retention: Retained while your account is active or needed to provide services. After account deletion, certain data may be kept up to 90 days or longer for accounting, legal, audit, or compliance needs before permanent erasure.
- Identity Verification Data: ID numbers are never stored. Limited details (name, gender, derived age) are deleted once no longer required for compliance or fraud prevention.
5) Security
We implement industry-standard security measures (encryption, secure transmission) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
6) Your Rights & Choices
- Access & update your profile and preferences.
- Request account deletion within the app.
- Opt out of marketing emails and push notifications in settings.
7) Children’s Privacy & CSAE Policy
- Strings Social is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children without verified parental consent.
- We maintain a Zero-Tolerance Policy for Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation (CSAE): immediate termination, reporting to authorities, and full cooperation with child protection agencies.
8) International Users
Your data will be processed and stored in your country of operation. Where cross-border transfers occur, we ensure compliance with applicable safeguards and data protection standards.
9) Updates to This Policy
We may update this Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notifications or email.
